'Need for Speed Payback' Takes Racing, Tuning and Chasing to the Next Level
Dropping worldwide on November 10.
Electronic Arts (EA) has announced the latest installment in its popular Need For Speed franchise. Introducing Need For Speed Payback, the explosive adventure video game filled with heist missions, car battles, police chases, and more epic expeditions. The NFS series, which began in 1994, takes a turn this year as the gameplay is set in the underworld of Fortune Valley. According to EA, players can choose from three characters: Tyler the Racer; Mac the Showman or Jess the Wheelman. Their mission is centered on taking vengeance against a notorious cartel called The House. The car customization has intensified, as players will be able to construct the ultimate supercar and then bet on its performance.
“Need for Speed returns this year to challenge what players expect from racing games,” said Marcus Nilsson, executive producer. “We’re still delivering everything our fans love about the franchise –- the deepest customization, an impressive roster of cars, intense races and open world pursuits –- but with Need for Speed Payback, we’re bringing together all those elements in an all new blockbuster driving experience. From the story, to the different characters you can drive as, to the varied missions, to the edge-of-your-seat moments, this is our vision for what action driving entertainment means today.”
In order to play before the official launch, EA Access and Origin Access are allowing members to play for up to 10 hours starting Thursday, November 2 with the EA Access and Origin Access Play First trial. Need for Speed Payback will release worldwide on November 10 for Xbox One, PlayStation4 and PC.
