For its Spring/Summer 2018 show, D.GNAK creative director Kang Dong Jun made his debut at London Fashion Week Men’s. Inspired by the idea of inevitable interaction and the coming together of two complementary (rather than opposing) forces, Kang used the Chinese character and symbol of yin and yang as the central theme of his SS18 collection. Kang fused traditional Korean clothing and Western tailoring with colors beyond black and white. Hues of beige, yellow, and red were also used in the collection filled with suiting, oversize shapes, and utility accessories.
Tailoring played a big role in this collection as seen in a cropped beige jacket or in an all-white ensemble with an elongated and oversized bomber jacket. Utility details such as belt loops, buckles, zips, and strings were also added to many pieces in order to accent the smart silhouettes.
