Chance the Rapper Is Receiving a Humanitarian Award
BET is honoring the Chicago superstar.

For Chicago’s hometown hero Chance the Rapper, the accolades continue to roll in. The Coloring Book artist has been chosen to be the latest recipient of BET‘s Humanitarian Award, which will be presented at this year’s 2017 BET Awards ceremony. BET revealed the news earlier today, singling out Chance’s philanthropy and social involvement as the reasons for the honor. From having a one-on-one sitdown with his state’s governor to emptying out his bank account to help his city’s school system to reaching out to local students to work on his music videos, the 24-year-old has done so much that some have called for him to run for office.
Fans will be able to tune into BET to watch Chance the Rapper receive his Humanitarian Award on Sunday, June 25 at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST. Chance’s last major release as a musician came in the form of last month’s Francis and the Lights remix.
