For its 2017 spring/summer lookbook Chinese brand ingenious draws its inspiration from Russian-French artist Nicolas de Staël’s painting Orage. While the painting allows for objects to keep a natural figure even with the introduction of light, colors and space, there is still a romantic aspect that the brand looks to echo. Utilizing ribbons and laces, pieces are separated and tied together for a sense of freedom. Aiming to explore the idea of structure and lines the same way the painting explores light and colors, ingenious provides the consumer with pieces that force you to think about balance and breaking traditions.
