China Now Has the World's Largest Ferris Wheel Without Spokes
Complete with 36 carts and built-in TV sets.

A massive spokeless Ferris Wheel has just been constructed on the Bailang River Bridge in Weifang, China. Touted as the world’s largest, the center-less structure boasts 36 carts that can fit up to 10 passengers each. Each cart has a built-in TV set, wireless Internet and, of course, a stunning view of East China’s Shandong Province. Not to mention, the Ferris Wheel is approximately 145 meters tall and takes exactly 28 minutes to complete one full rotation, as per designboom. Tianjin Craftsman Manufacture was commissioned to build the shaftless landmark.
This isn’t the first spokeless Ferris Wheel to be built in China, but it is ostensibly the largest. In 2013, the “Turn of Fortune” ride was developed in the city of Changzhou, but measures only 89 meters high.
