Jordan Brand Officially Reveals Air Jordan 1 "Wings"
Taking flight since ‘85.
Going back to the one that started it all, Jordan Brand has officially announced the Air Jordan 1 “Wings.” The special silhouette showcases Michael Jordan‘s astonishing comeback during the NBA’s 1985-86 season following a foot injury. In Jordan’s return, he managed to lead the Chicago Bulls to the NBA playoffs while averaging 43.7 points in the team’s losing effort against the Boston Celtics.
The Air Jordan 1 “Wings” follows a previous iteration presented on the Air Jordan 12 and sports an antiqued gold undertone layer. This “Wings” release delivers a special message to the youth that hard work to overcome doubt as Jordan Brand’s overall Wings initiative has a goal of influencing the youth to build confidence and education worldwide.
Special “Wings” branding can be found on the model’s tongue and heel with individual numbering being found on each inner tongue. The Air Jordan 1 “Wings” will launch at select retailers and online on May 17 for a retail price of $200 USD.
