A Closer Look at the adidas Consortium PureControl UltraBOOST "Champagne"
A nod to David Beckham’s fan-favorite “Champagne” colorway of the Predator Mania.
As far as more modern boots go, David Beckham‘s “Champagne” edition of the Predator Mania remains, to this day, one of the most beloved pieces of football-related footwear to ever hit the pitch. Just this morning, adidas revealed that it’s bringing back the kicks as a part of a celebratory “Champagne” pack in honor of the retired star’s 41st birthday and now we have our first proper look at the highlight of the collection: the PureControl UltraBOOST. A modern day nod to the 2002 boots, the kicks once again couple a Primeknit rendition of the ACE 16+ upper with the tooling of the beloved UltraBOOST — Continental rubber outsole and all. Here, the design comes swathed in the champagne-inspired off-white hue while the black stripes recall the stitched-in Predator tech of the original boots. Finally, the Predator’s distinctive red tongue appears here in the form of pull tabs and a vertical heel stripe.
Like the rest of the collection, the PureControl UltraBOOST “Champagne” is due to hit Three Stripes spots — including END. — this Wednesday, May 3.
