Long Beach, California rapper Vince Staples stopped by Power 106’s The Cruz Show on Wednesday where he was promptly put on the spot by being asked “who’s the best rapper alive?” Staples shared his outlook on how to qualify the best rapper alive before naming Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West as his selections for the top spot. Staples then went on to name the rest of his top five, which also included JAY Z, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. Watch Staples’s entire appearance on The Cruz Show above. Staples stated:

“Talking about all-time, we can say Michael Jordan is still alive, but he’s not beating LeBron James one-on-one. You talking about right now, it’s Kendrick. Easy. It’s not even close. Or [it is] Kanye.”
