Its special theme is dedicated to the young Raptor’s favorite memory of watching Kobe Bryant airball clutch shots during the 1997 playoffs — proving that even the greatest of athletes come face-to-face with adversity. You’ll find details reflecting that moment, in addition to others paying homage to DeRozan’s hometown of Compton, throughout the silhouette via the date of the “airball game” found on the lace tips plus an image of the Compton street on which DeRozan grew up printed on its insoles.
