Derek Jeter and Jeb Bush Are Among Bidders for the Miami Marlins
Captain, say it ain’t so.

According to “people with direct knowledge of the matter,” Derek Jeter and Jeb Bush are among the few names Fox Business reports as potential buyers of the Miami Marlins. Albeit separate bids, those are two names we weren’t expecting to see in the same sentence.
While Jeter’s name was mentioned in partnership with “veteran Wall Street executive” Gregory Fleming, the former Governor of Florida’s name is being paired with Citigroup. There was also another group reported with “financial backing from Goldman Sachs.”
The move makes sense for Jeb, but Jeter has some history with the Marlins — they seized what could of been his sixth championship, and in the Bronx no less.
There is some good news to be told however: the Marlins owner stands to make a pretty penny with a price tag that exceeds the billion dollar mark, and Jeter is about to have a baby!
