Shia LaBeouf Moves Controversial 'HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US' Installation to the UK
The anti-Trump installation moves across the pond.
Shia LaBeouf‘s controversial “HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US” live stream installation has arrived in the British city of Liverpool after running into one too many violent confrontations in the U.S. The artwork – a collaboration between LaBeouf, Luke Turner and Nastja Säde Rönkkö — has seen its fair share of headlines since the actor and activist set up the live stream video installation in New York in the wake of Donald Trump‘s election. It was closed down in just weeks after becoming a target for neo-Nazi violence and then, after relocating to Albuquerque, it lasted a similarly short stint after shots were fired in the vicinity. Now the artwork has crossed the Atlantic to set up at FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) in Liverpool, where it is hoped it will last longer than in previous sites.
“Events have shown that America is simply not safe enough for this artwork to exist,” says LaBeouf, Rönkkö and Turner on its relocation. “We are proud to be continuing the project at FACT, an arts centre at the heart of the community.” For more information, visit the FACT website.
