Porsche Design Unveils Its Sleek Monobloc Actuator
Inspired by Porsche’s own 911 RSR racer.
After introducing its first laptop and putting its own spin on the “Triple Black” UltraBOOST, Porsche Design is turning its attention to timepieces in honor of Baselworld 2017. And the highlight of its new offerings? The Monobloc Actuator.
Inspired by Porsche’s own 911 RSR race car (specifically, “the functionality of the high RPM mechanical valve control” of the vehicle), the oversized design measures 45.5mm in diameter and is 15.5mm thick and sports a case crafted out of solid titanium. Uniquely, the timepiece makes use of an integrated rocker switch, which controls the operation of the chronograph entirely from within the watch’s case. The clean dial even takes the motorsport inspiration a step further with its checkered flag-inspired function indicator, which appears at the 9 o’clock position.
Look for the entirety of the Monobloc Actuator collection to go on sale this May and, in the meantime, head on over to Porsche Design’s website to find out more about the watch.
