The Nike Zoom Modairna Has Unexpected Roots
The sleek new women’s look can trace its heritage back to the court.

Nike‘s new Zoom Modairna taps into an unlikely source for its inception. The Nike Air Zoom Flight 98, released for Gary Payton and also known as “The Glove” due to the lace-protecting shroud it came with, was a particularly innovative model for its time and it shares similar features with this model released almost 20 years later. Available in “Triple Black,” “Vachetta Tan” and “Thunder Blue” colorways, the sleek minimal design makes for a smarter, more refined sneaker that blurs the line between sportswear and smart shoe. The Zoom Modairna will be available from selected Nike retailers from March 18, and will be priced at $175 USD.
