GEO “GODSPEED” Collection Two
The sophomore lineup.

Building from the strong momentum of his inaugural collection, London-based GEO has finally unveiled the followup with “GODSPEED” Collection Two, which comes in time for the 2017 spring/summer season. A continuation of the visuals created by the Blue Marble graphic that was present in Collection One, the lineup focuses on a theme of travel. This exploration of travel takes form in both literal and conceptual translations as we see inconspicuous planetary graphics adorn a number of pieces, while subtle approaches such as white space, gray space and counter space provide abstract meanings to the theme. Taking this one step further, “Good luck and Godspeed” were some of the last words the astronauts heard from the Launch Control Center as they took off on July 16, 1969, hence the title of the lineup.
The definition of “Godspeed” is an expression of good wishes to a person starting a journey, and GEO reflects upon this new visual language created which relates back to the whole ideology of the brand. Simply put, he’s “still learning, it’s early days yet,” says the talented designer. This culmination of inspirations has produced a cohesive array of items is a refinement of Collection One, however, the number of products on offer has doubled since the first launch with new graphics and new silhouettes added.
Highlights from the collection include the upgraded, split color denim jacket that fans might remember from before, as well as the deconstructed work coat and pants. Moreover, accessories like the utilitarian belt, graphic socks and caps create an all-encompassing selection to round out the strong sophomore lineup. Take a look through the images and watch out for the pre-order to launch in April at the label’s online store.
