Nearly two weeks after the announcement of Elon Musk’s Hyperloop One test track starting construction in Las Vegas, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT), has begun construction on the world’s first full scale Passenger Hyperloop Capsule. Built in collaboration with Carbures S.A., the final specs for the capsule are 98.5 feet in length, 9 feet in diameter, 20 tons in weight, and a passenger capacity of 28-40 traveling up to speeds of 760 mph.

HTT CEO Dirk Ahlborn said, ” We are taking a passenger first approach to guarantee that safety is always our number one concern. It has been crucial in our development to go past the simple requirements of freight in order to build a better and safer system for everyone.” HTT board member Ramón Betolaza had this to add, “Carbures is a consolidated leader in the structural composites world with over 15 years of experience, with over 1,000 employees, eight manufacturing plants and five engineering centers, they are the perfect partner for HTT.”

The duo are aiming for an early 2018 delivery and reveal at HTT’s R&D center in Toulouse, France. Check out the video above to get a first glimpse and let us know how you think it’ll stack up to the concept designs.
