Doublet's 2017 Fall/Winter Collection Combines Iconic Aesthetics of Other Fashion Brands
Borrowing from OFF-WHITE and Vetements.

Japanese fashion imprint Doublet has just debuted its 2017 fall/winter collection which draws a lot of inspiration from the likes of Vetements, OFF-WHITE and more. Featured throughout the collection are exaggerated silhouettes and straps which have become the calling card of Vetements. Furthermore, words like “KNIT,” “UNDERWEAR,” “XXL” and “PAINTING” make its way onto garments similar to Virgil Abloh’s OFF-WHITE, which made it its bread and butter since debuting in 2014. We also see the brand borrowing subtly from the likes of Gucci with its dragon design similar to the way Gucci has its snakes and other embroidered animals.
A hallmark feature of the collection is the recognition of global fashion powerhouse cities like Paris, Milan, and New York along with an admiration for the USA as its featured on multiple garbs with a falling text pattern. Doublet also pushes the boundaries in its own way with trousers that go all the way up to the chest and a half-cut jacket but many of these looks feel very familiar.
