BuzzFeed Is Rumored to Go Public in 2018
The media giant continues its reign.

After years of online success, internet media giant BuzzFeed might be going public in the near future. As Axios writer Mike Allen reports, the NYC-based company is currently working on its plans for hitting the stock market next year. “With a blinding spotlight on Snap’s IPO, viral powerhouse BuzzFeed is quietly making preparations to go public in 2018, industry sources tell me,” Allen writes. The Axios piece also notes that BuzzFeed has denied multiple buyout offers in the past, and has reportedly planned to go public for quite some time.
Established in 2006, BuzzFeed has expanded from a “great cat site” to an influential website capable of influencing and covering various sections of the media spectrum. From international politics to entertainment to endless listicles, the Jonah Peretti-led company produces daily content on a variety of subjects.
