10 Special Custom Sneaker Releases Unveiled Via Instagram This Week
From a BOOST-enhanced YEEZY “Calabasas” Powerphase to an OFF-WHITE x adidas NMD_R1 collaboration.

Last week’s 10 Special Custom Sneaker Releases saw customized works with Fear of God, Supreme, BAPE and more. In our latest edition, we have more conceptual works that pit together some of the most relevant motifs in the realms of streetwear and luxury fashions, such as the YEEZY “Calabasas” Powerphase adopting a full BOOST unit, as well as a Chanel-inspired Air Jordan 1. This list wouldn’t be complete without showcasing a collection of creative reworks on some quintessentially classic silhouettes, be it through luxury textile applications, bold color punches and other eclectic accents. From a touching memorial tribute to a beloved muppet reference, our compilation draws inspiration from various artistic disciplines. Let us know if any of them caught your eye.
Maroonnyc adidas Originals YEEZY “Calabasas” Powerphase BOOST
Although more concept that custom, it really was only a matter of time before someone reimagined the highly-anticipated “Calabasas” Powerphase sneaker with a BOOST sole unit set as the design focal point. Produced in white, off-white and black colorway iterations, they all sport the same clean base, which sits atop the Three Stripes’ revolutionary sole system.
Vandythepink OFF-WHITE x adidas NMD_R1
Reaching for a pair of “Triple White” NMD_R1s, vandythepink decides to give the lifestyle silhouette a streetwear makeover by applying an embroidered OFF-WHITE-inspired rose on the side panel and branded EVA plugs on one shoe with the signature “OFF-WHITE c/o VIRGIL ABLOH” labelling on the other.
Jack the Ripper AJ3 Tribute
To help pay tribute to the many lives lost in 2016 at the hands of senseless police brutality, Jack the Ripper reinterprets what looks to be the AJ3 silhouette and blankets the shoe with names of several fallen victims. Representing light in the darkest of times, the names and sole unit glow in the dark, which when accompanied with the memorial flower lining, go on to reveal a creation as expressive as is respectful.
Rich & Faded adidas Originals NMD High
Another sneaker variation bound at some point to see the light of day, Rich & Faded introduce “THE WORLDS FIRST NMD HIGH.” The hi-top creation features a grey, white and black knit construction, as well as a zip-up closure system, not to mention the iconic The Stripes branding on the side panel.
Carmeno Custom Kicks Supreme x Louis Vuitton NMD
Not the first and certainly not the last, Carmeno Custom Kicks constructs a clean custom creation featuring motifs from none other than the ‘preme x LV collaboration. The all-red NMDs incorporate the Supreme logo on the outer rear heel, while LV branding hits the BOOST sole, side panel stripes and the tongue area.
The Shoe Surgeon Chanel x AJ1
The Shoe Surgeon transforms the iconic Air Jordan 1 silhouette into something new through the use of Chanel bags. The upper utilizes an all-black textured/quilted leather combination with hits of gold landing on the tongue and side Swoosh. Finally, the rear adopts a chain that pays homage to the luxury brand’s iconic handbags. A complete luxury overhaul for this basketball classic.
Ceezem Customs Air Force 1 Floral Recon Boot
Converging the worlds of rugged masculinity and refined sophistication, we see here the Air Force 1 Floral Recon Boot from Ceezem Customs. The SF-AF1 in its subtle off-white colorway, receives a complementary contrast in the floral embroidery pattern landing on the side panel and upper ankle areas.
Shme Custom Kicks Air Jordan Shark
Shme Custom Kicks applies what looks to be the BAPE shark teeth graphic and places it directly on top of the front sole unit — completely redefining the Air Jordan 12 Low. Accentuating the signature print is the clean white color scheme, while the accompanying Jumpman logo placed on the heel rounds it all off.
Spicychickenwings Air Force 1
For this Air Force 1 Low, Wing Li decided to employ an eclectic mix of patterned prints, devising an aesthetic that is solely unique. Up for debate as to what the focal point should be, the artist creates a design that leaves much in the way of interpretation and appreciation.
Kickasso Cookie Monster Roshe
In this ode to one of Sesame Street’s most revered characters, Kickasso adorns these Nike Roshe’s in decorative Cookie Monster design accents. While hand painted cookies embellish the sole unit, the critter’s signature eyes peek out from within the side panel Swoosh.
