Early last year, VH1 aired The Breaks, a Seith Mann-helmed original film entirely inspired by hip-hop’s early years. Now, the network is planning to push a TV program based on the movie’s themes. To promote the February 20 premiere of the inaugural episode of The Breaks, VH1 has unveiled a star-studded lead trailer in support of the project. Featuring appearances from T.I., Method Man, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris and others, the new promotional vignette for The Breaks reintroduces viewers to some of the story’s main characters and narratives. As VH1 and other outlets have noted, the Breaks TV series takes place after the conclusion of last year’s film.

You can check out the trailer for The Breaks above, and tune into VH1 next Monday, February 20 at 9 PM EST to catch the series premiere.
