Thaddeus O'Neil's 2017 Fall/Winter Collection Is Inspired By The Voyager Records Era
A call back to the late 1970s.
Thaddeus O’Neil puts forth a 2017 fall/winter collection that’s part cosmic and part retro. For the unfamiliar, The Voyager Records were vinyl recordings of earthly sounds — these included music, human conversations, and animal noises. They were envetually sent to space, never to be seen again. So the result for the inspiration is O’neil channeling the early years of space exploration and mixing that with 70s glam. We see some shiny fabrics, patchworks, floral prints, and even vinyl-esque embroideries. As a whole, the range is a bit of a departure from what the creative generally puts out, but it works here in terms of riding some of today’s important trends.
