Saturdays NYC Refines the Utilitarian Aesthetic for 2017 Spring/Summer

Premium fabrications meet sophisticated draping.

With a nod to ceramic craftsmanship, Saturdays NYC has crafted a crisp and refined approach to tried-and-true utilitarian styles for its Spring/Summer 2017 collection. Pairing sophisticated draping with premium fabrications that include everything from nylon satin to tri-color twisted yarn mélanges, the collection is marked by a palette of dune, ivory, midnight and sage throughout. Standout pieces include linen suiting and Nepalese Gurkha soldier-inspired linen shorts while lightweight knits and sweats boast boxy cuts and natural vegetable, ash and clay dyes for rich pigmentation that ages beautifully over time. Joining the looks are striped shirts, a military drill cloth studio jacket, windbreakers, a double garment-dyed trench and a modified take on Saturdays’ Julian bomber, not to mention premium vegetable-tanned leather pouches and wallets — all of which come complete with handmade Japanese indigo dye — to go along with a bevy of footwear.

Saturdays NYC’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection is available now online, at Saturdays flagships and at select retailers.
