Kevin Durant Pays Homage to His Alma Mater via the Nike KD 9

The Nike KD 9 will soon pay homage to Kevin Durant’s quick stint at the University of Texas. Normally, Texas Longhorn athletes would sport the special colorways of Durant’s previous silhouettes as exclusive PEs, but this will mark the first time a KD model hosting the university’s colors will receive a global release. This special edition of the KD 9 rests atop of a gum outsole and full-length visible Zoom Air unit which is complemented by a white midsole. Moving up towards its upper you’ll find off-white throughout its sock-like Flyknit forefoot. Rust coloring provides a contrast and a true nod to the University of Texas via its lateral and medial Swooshes. To round out the Nike KD 9 “Texas,” branding can be found on its heel and tongue as final nods to the university and Durant’s jersey number.
The Nike KD 9 “Texas” will officially launch on March 10 at select retailers and nike.com.
