adidas Will Award an NFL Prospect a Private Island If They Can Break This Record
Last year it was a cool $1 million USD.

Last year, adidas football offered up $1 million USD to any NFL prospect that could break the Combine’s 40-yard dash record of 4.24, held by both Rondel Menendez (1999) and Chris Johnson (2008). Unfortunately no one won, as the fastest time came from former Georgia running back Keith Marshall with a time of 4.31 seconds.
This year, the sportswear brand will continue the tradition, however instead of a cash prize, it will award the record-breaker with their own private island (the island in question has not been announced). All “terms and conditions” can be read here, but the most notable one is that the athlete must be wearing a pair of adidas’s 2017 adizero 5-Star 40 cleats during their run, and must sign with adidas football for the forthcoming season. That’s pretty cool of adidas, but what is a 20-some-year-old going to do with an island?
The NFL Combine runs from February 28 to March 6 in Indianapolis.
