Extra Butter Flaunts Unreleased Wes Anderson-Inspired adidas Collaboration
Just one left shoe was produced.
Extra Butter art director Bernie Gross recently sat down with Sole Collector to unveil an un-released adidas collaboration inspired by a Wes Anderson film. The silhouette in question is the SL Loop which made its debut back in 2014. As for the Wes Anderson inspiration, the sneaker is draped in velour with gold crossed keys on the heel tabs that pays tribute to Mr. Gustave from The Grand Budapest Hotel film. Conclusively, 100 pairs of the collaborative shoe were intended for a friends and family release, but it never saw the light of day.
Regarding the collaboration, Gross expressed, “Logistically, it was just in production and sampling really late. As we all know with a lot of sneakers that have to do with any copyrighting, it gets kind of hairy, so we decided to scrap it.” In fact, only one left shoe was made and you can check it out in the gallery above.
