Netflix has released the new trailer for its upcoming cyberpunk series Altered Carbon. The Richard K. Morgan-penned steampunk thriller is part of Morgan’s Takeshi Kovacs series, with this adaptation serving as the first part.

Humans have developed a technology that allows for someone to transfer their consciousness from one body to another. After being murdered, Earth’s richest man, Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), hires an ex-soldier to track down his killer. In the trailer, Bancroft says that at the age of 365, he was killed, with police believing he committed suicide. Check out the clip above and look for Altered Carbon to begin streaming on Netflix on February 2, 2018.
