A Closer Look at the Midnight Studios Fall/Winter 2017 T-Shirts
Bauhaus-inspired moodiness.
Shane Gonzales‘ Midnight Studios offers a closer look at its seasonal line-up of T-shirts. Drawing heavily on the work of legendary post-punk musicians Bauhaus, the release encompasses an assortment of to-the-point text and graphics referencing the band’s output and the group itself.
Boasting graphics from Tom Tosseyn, whose client list includes Raf Simons, Alexander McQueen and Yohji Yamamoto, the shirts utilize understated imagery in line with Bauhaus’ atmospheric music. Song titles and lyrics are collaged onto T-shirts, with the limited color palette keeping to white, black and red. Meanwhile, Midnight Studios’ cut-and-sew shirts feature scalloped armholes and a seamed hem, adding similarly muted visual interest to the range.
The selection is available on Midnight Studios’ web site. Recently, the label issued a lookbook of their latest collection, which was one of the most notable product drops of the week.
