Maison Margiela and Mackintosh Drop Capsule Trench Coat Collab
You can finally wear the famous staff uniform lab coat.

Maison Margiela is the latest brand to work with Mackintosh, creating a new capsule collection of trench coats. The label’s staff lab coats have long been an iconic piece in fashion since the brand’s 1988 inception — something brands such as Off-White™ took inspiration from when creating its own staff uniform — and now Margiela will be allowing the public to wear what has long been an in-house only item as part of the two-piece capsule.
As well as the staff coat, WWD reports that the second trench will take inspiration from Mackintosh’s archives, using the décortiqué technique first seen in Margiela’s John Galliano-designed spring 2017 artisanal collection.
The two limited edition coats will be available from December in selected Maison Margiela boutiques. The last update from the legendary French house saw us take a look at the premiere of the We Margiela documentary, looking at the history of the iconic brand.
