Hender Scheme Offers Leather Crocs, Condom Socks and More for Spring/Summer 2018
A bevy of handmade goods.
Japanese craft label Hender Scheme is best known for its Manual Industrial Products – a footwear series that pay tribute to classic sneakers. However, the label offers an extensive array of accessories and household items made in by hand in its workshop, and is debuting a spate of new items for Spring/Summer 2018.
Dubbed “BLANK,” the new collection encompasses shoes, accessories and quirky one-offs. Footwear ranges from chunky “UFO” and monk strap models to a leather Croc-style shoe, putting the brand’s leather craftsmanship and Goodyear-welt technique on full display. Other wearables include the brand’s hard-wearing “Tail” and “Tanning” belts, a selection of caps and hats, and the usual assortment of wallets, coin cases and other pouches. Meanwhile, some of the more offbeat items include diffusor sprays — leather-scented, of course — leather book covers, and a Go-like game crafted from leather; and then there’s the “Safe Sock,” a pair of socks that come packaged like a set of condoms.
Expect the goods to arrive on Hender Scheme’s web store on December 2. For more Japanese goods, take a look at the Yogee New Waves x Helly Hansen collaboration.
