Yogee New Waves Collaborates With Helly Hansen for 140th Anniversary
Japanese styling, Norwegian tradition.
Norway’s Helly Hansen has been producing sportswear and clothing for the outdoors since 1877. This year, the brand turned 140 and kicked off its US relaunch with a Kinfolk collaboration. In Japan, the brand has enjoyed consistent success under Goldwin, and is teaming up with domestic rock band Yogee New Waves for a selection of co-branded gear.
A Yogee New Waves patch appears throughout the range, which includes a jacket that meshes quilting and fleece, a long-sleeved shirt and a half-zip jacket. Although the release is primarily executed in a nautical blue color scheme, the quilted jacket is a darker indigo. Two raglan sleeved items — a sweater and quarter-zip — see a minimalist Yogee New Waves logo placed on the chest, while the patch reappears on the sleeve. Rounding out the offering is a simple cap, with the band’s imagery front and center.
An event celebrating the brand’s heritage is set for December 13 in Shibuya, where the collaboration will debut. Check out the label’s website for more info. For more winter outerwear from Japan, check out BAPE’s latest down jacket.
