ASICS Showcases Japanese Craftsmanship in New GEL-Lyte III Pack
The shoe boasts indigo dye and handmade details.

Tapping into its Japanese heritage, ASICS debuts a pair of made-in-Japan GEL-Lyte III sneakers. Although not the first made-in-Japan ASICS GEL shoe, this release stresses handmade attributes.
Indigo dye was applied by the hands of craftsmen to the upper of each sneaker, creating distinct variations and quirks in each shoe — thus, every iteration is unique. The depth and shade of the indigo varies, as they’re determined by the amount of times the all-natural dye is applied. Available in light and dark versions, the shoes are truly made in Japan, with the leather cutting, sewing assembly and finishing all executed domestically.
The premium GEL-Lyte III models release online on December 9 for £440 GBP (approximately $587 USD). In related ASICS news, designer Kiko Kostadinov revealed his collaborative model with the brand last week.
