AGAINST LAB. References Manga & Pop Culture for Fall/Winter 2017

Malaysia’s AGAINST LAB. has dropped a lookbook for its Fall/Winter 2017 collection, entitled “MOTIVES.” As one of the underground streetwear labels that truly deserves some shine, AGAINST LAB. has loaded this current collection with playful graphics and a brief range of accessories.
Referencing manga and pop culture of the 80s and 90s, the label’s new release takes cues from what it deems “the lack of genuine and authentic human interaction [in today's society].” The offering touches upon a suitable retro aesthetic with boxy T-shirt styling and lively imagery. Varied AGAINST LAB. branding appears on nearly every item, with designer Zulamran Hilmi contributing two designs to the lineup. Ranging from old-school technology to a revised anarchy symbol, the prints cover an array of T-shirts, hoodies, hats and even a pair of socks.
