Thundercat Shines in NPR 'Tiny Desk Concert'

Without question, Thundercat is one of this era’s most talented, forward-thinking virtuoso musicians; when it comes to contemporary jazz, funk and soul, he has brought more new fans to the forefront and helped evolve the genres past the icons of old. Fittingly, that makes him the perfect candidate for one of NPR‘s acclaimed Tiny Desk Concert performances.

Coming to the NPR studios with a bass in his hands and a bright pink hoodie and purple dreadlock combo covering his body, the Brainfeeder mastermind ran through a lean set that focused on showcasing the futuristic sounds of his studio album Drunk. Backed by an equally-talented three-piece band, Thundercat served up the sort of performance that steals your attention within seconds; more than just a recording artist, this man makes musical miracles happen.

Earlier this month, Thundercat achieved “inner peace” for his “Show You The Way” visual.
