'Pokémon GO' Announces Release of New Ghost Types to Celebrate Halloween

To celebrate this year’s All Hallows Eve, Niantic recently announced an exciting Pokémon GO Halloween event, which will feature the release of new ghost types. In a promotional video, the mobile game developer revealed that at 3 pm EDT on October 20, trainers will begin to encounter spooky ghost-type Pokémon from the Hoenn region. Additionally, during the event, ghost types will see an increased spawn rate, with players being able to earn double candy and special boxes. There will also be Mimikyu avatar disguises and a witch wearing a Pikachu hat available. The Pokémon GO Halloween event is set to run until 4 pm EDT on November 2.
