Watch the First Trailer for Louis Theroux's New Documentary Series
Showing “the other side of America.”
British journalist and filmmaker Louis Theroux is set to return this weekend with his first documentary since last year’s investigation into Scientology. Titled Dark States, the three-part series promises to reveal “the other side of America” and will look at topics including drugs, sex trafficking and murder.
The first episode in the series to air, “Heroin Town,” will arrive on the BBC October 8 and is set to be followed by episodes titled “Murder in Milwaukee” and “Sex Trafficking Houston.” Describing the series to the Independent earlier this year, Theroux explained that: “I immerse myself in some of the most dysfunctional and disturbing aspects of American society.”
