Megan then reflects on the loss of her mother, who encouraged her to pursue music. The documentary also delves into the Megan being shot by rapper Tory Lanez and the subsequent trial that ensued.

Set to release on October 31, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words will follow the Houston Hottie’s journey to superstardom while navigating fame, grief, pressure and success. “The documentary,” the press release reads, “unpacks Megan’s most vulnerable moments in a powerful way that allows fans to meet the real Megan Pete.”
The docu is helmed by Nneka Onuorah and co-produced by Carmen Cee and Mackenzie Hill. Loren Hammonds, Dave O’Connor, Lori York, Desiree Perez, Nneka Onuorah, Alexa Conway and Ian Orefice serve as executive producers in tandem with Amazon MGM Studios, TIME Studios, Roc Nation Production and Nneka Productions.
