Kobe Bryant Has Some Advice for Lonzo Ball and His Big Baller Brand
The Black Mamba has his say.
Since signing with the Los Angeles Lakers as the number 2 draft pick this past offseason, Lonzo Ball has been one of the biggest talking points in the NBA. Whether for the right or wrong reasons, the Anaheim native has been in the spotlight from the get-go and after being one assist away from notching his first career triple-double on Friday night, that doesn’t look to be changing.
In an unprecedented move back before the draft, Lonzo dropped his own signature shoe under his family’s brand, the Big Baller Brand. Dubbed the Z02, the shoe came with a staggering price tag of $495 USD ($695 USD if you’re a size 14). Big Baller Brand is also selling a $995 USD limited-edition ZO2 WET, which comes in a glass box with a floor mirror and LED lights. Kobe Bryant recently sat down with CNBC to provide his personal insight about Ball’s decision to create his own shoe.
Kobe’s main message is that Ball and his family brand have to “execute properly.” According to the Black Mamba, the only way that Ball will be able to challenge the big retailers is if the “innovation and the quality of the product is there.” You can hear what the future hall-of-famer had to say in full above.
