More importantly, the piece is a donation to support The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The art dealer has estimated a sale price of approximately $55,000 USD. However, there are already nine bids on the website with the current bid at $51,000 USD. This figure is #2 out of 5 artist’s proof from an edition total of 25.
KAWS joins other renowned contemporary artists such as Shepard Fairey and Christopher Makos who have also donated pieces to the museum to help raise funds for exhibitions as well as educational programming.
