Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Teaches Neil DeGrasse Tyson About Rebounds
Neil DeGrasse Tyson learns some new vocabulary.
In a segment for his talk show Startalk, Neil DeGrasse Tyson sits down with the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to discuss the science of rebounds. Little did Tyson expect, Kareem was already equipped with some knowledge about optics and Snell’s law, answering that the “angle in equals the angle out.” After all the science talk, Tyson laughs it off and attributes his 17,440 career rebounds to his ridiculous wingspan — which Kareem doesn’t seem to find as amusing, but eventually jokes back that it helps to have “what we call hops.” Check out the video above to see Chuck Nice and the other cohosts roast the Astrophysicist for his unfamiliarity of hoop slang.
