HYPEBEAST Mix: DJ Dahi & Drewbyrd - Play Dis
Two-thirds of LA’s infamous GYG Crew lace one up.
For our latest HYPEBEAST Mix series, we’ve linked up with two-thirds of LA’s infamous GYG Crew, TDE’s own Mixed by Ali, DJ Dahi & Drewbyrd. The 53-minute mix is a compilation of roughly 26 songs ranging from Mobb Deep classics (R.I.P. Prodigy) to a plethora of deep cuts from Tay-K, Daboii, Steve Lacy and King Krule amongst others. This mix comes after a highly successful 2017 from both respective DJ/producers — Dahi produced five records off Kendrick Lamar’s acclaimed DAMN. album which has since gone double platinum, in addition to winning the coveted 2017 ‘Album of The Year’ award at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards Show. He tells us there are “more hits on the way!” and to be on the lookout for a solo project in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Drewbyrd has been working diligently behind the boards as well, spending most of 2017 not only producing tracks for the likes Mac Miller, Odd Future, Rick Ross, Dom Kennedy and Nipsey Hustle, but also hosting one of the most notable frequent parties in Los Angeles, ‘Shabbaaaaa,’ which also recently collaborated with Dover Street Market Singapore for a capsule collection.
