The new Pixelbook, Pixel phones, and Home lineup additions aren’t the only gadgets Google unveiled at today’s keynote. One of the more unexpected reveals from the event was undoubtedly Clips.

A tiny Google-built, AI-powered camera, Clips is intended to take the place of a so-called “designated photographer.” Instead of being responsible for snapping pics and videos of the precious moments on your own time, Clips “lets you capture more of these special moments, while allowing yourself also to be in the moment” by working on its own and seamlessly syncing via the corresponding Android and iOS app in seconds (it also works with Google Photos and allows users to backup unlimited clips for free). There’s even an included shutter button so you can operate the camera yourself should you see fit. As far as specs go, a 130-degree f/2.4 lens is coupled with auto-focus capabilities, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB-C connection.

While a firm release date has yet to be revealed, Google promises Clips will be available soon for $249 USD.
