Daily Paper & Alpha Industries Drop an MA-1 Inspired by Zambia's Afronauts
Paying tribute to the influential south African space program.

Amsterdam’s Daily Paper has unveiled a collaborative jacket with America’s Alpha Industries. Fully embroidered, the piece takes cues from Zambian scientist Edward Nikolso, founder of the Zambia National Academy of Science, Space Research and Philosophy.
Daily Paper was founded in 2010, consistently drawing inspiration from African culture for its collections. This drop commemorates the lofty attempts Nikolso made to send his “Afronauts” into space during the 1960’s. The outerwear’s front, sleeves and black are dotted with embroidered patches blending African-inspiration and the brand’s logo with galactic imagery. The item’s silver lining is exclusive to Daily Paper.
Retailing for €249 EUR (approximately $295 USD), the jacket is now available at Daily Paper’s webstore. Check out our peek at the brand’s recent collection and lookbook in our European release roundup.
