Titled “Momentum,” Chalayan’s runway show for Spring/Summer 2018 looks at Instagram culture and the fear of missing out on the exchange of digital information, employing a sportswear-influenced look at tailoring, playing with the silhouette of the traditional gray suit by shortening and widening the trousers.
Elsewhere there are riffs on the traditional white shirt and casual trousers with additional panels that mimic a wider leg. Aside from the newer shapes, there’s also some relatively standard versions of parkas and coach jackets in a selection of high quality wool fabrics for those looking to cop something less “out there” for the colder months.
Chalayan’s spring/summer 2018 collection will be available from stores from January next year. For more from the runway, check out 99%IS’ Korean Punk-infused Spring/Summer 2018 offering.
