The past few months have seen British sneaker retailer size? launch a slew of collaborations, including the “Atlanta” pack with adidas Originals and the “Neotropic” capsule with New Balance. For its latest joint work, the retailer has teamed up with ASICS Tiger to launch a take on the GEL-Lyte OG silhouette inspired by Japanese baseball.
The materials used on the sneaker all reference the sport and the passion of its Japanese fans. Gray satin, the material that Jerseys are made from, is used on the sidewall underlay and toe box while tonal cross stitching on the heel counter and sidewall are a reference to the baseball itself. Similarly, the contrasting leather stripes on the upper are representations to a pitchers glove. The release is strictly limited to just 500 pairs, which will be available for £90 GBP (approx. $120 USD) from the size? Previews app and select retailers.
As well as releasing the size? exclusive sneaker, ASICS has also recently unveiled a new black colorway of its GEL-Lyte III silhouette.
