LeBron James States the Cleveland Cavaliers Need a New Point Guard
With Rajon Rondo and Chalmers on the radar.

There’s no doubt today that LeBron James plays with one of the best point guards in the NBA, Kyrie Irving. Before that, many could argue James never had the luxury of playing with a top-tier point guard, though Mario Chalmers and Mo Williams were fine. With that in mind, LeBron has spoken candidly regarding the fact the Cleveland Cavaliers need another point guard to back Irving up. According to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, LeBron said on Friday, “We still got a couple more things we need to do. We gotta get a point guard. It’s my last time saying it. We need a point guard.” It’s reported that Rajon Rondo and Chalmers are on the Cavs’ radar. Coach Tyronn Lue agreed with LeBron, stating:
“I’m pretty sure that we will. Like I said, I’ve always been confident in [David Griffin] that he gets something done. We don’t want to just make a decision where we just bring in a backup point guard that doesn’t fit our style or fit who we are as a team and our culture. So, for me, it’s about getting the right piece and the right player.”
