Fujifilm GFX 50S: A Tiny Mirrorless Camera With a Humongous Medium Format Sensor
Touting an incredible 51.4-megapixels.

Fujifilm is making waves in the mirrorless camera sector with its all-new GFX 50S, just announced during Photokina 2016. The device is smaller than a normal DSLR and is fitted with a pretty enormous G Format sensor—sized at 43.8mm x 32.9mm — the same size as competitors’ medium format offerings. The sensor boasts 51.4-megapixels with each pixel size measuring at an insane 5.3 microns. The camera will only be compatible with the company’s soon-to-be-released G Mount lenses, including the GF63mm f/2.8 prime, GF32-64mm f/4 and the GF120mm f/4 macro lens. According to Engadget, the Japanese multinational imaging company is currently developing 100-megapixel cameras that utilize the G-mount format. Simply put, shutterbugs using these alleged cameras can expect some extremely high-resolution photos for any sized print.
There is no word yet on the exact price of the GFX 50S, but interested buyers can presumably snag the camera sometime in early 2017.
