Rihanna, Awkwafina, Anne Hathaway & More Join 'Ocean's 8' Lineup
The all-female reboot cast will join Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett.
According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Warner Bros have cemented an October filming schedule for Ocean’s Eight, the highly-anticipated female-centric spinoff of the massively popular Ocean’s franchise. Deadline have also revealed several A-list additions to the still-in-progress cast; Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, and Awkwafina are all set to ink deals and join the previously announced Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett. Ocean’s Eight will be directed by Gary Ross, and the film will be co-financed and co-produced with Village Roadshow Pictures. Original Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh is also attached as a producer. The Ocean’s trilogy grossed $1.12 billion worldwide in total, so anticipation for this new instalment is already off the charts.
