LA-based label ROKIT was in Las Vegas for AGENDA but it also had something special up its sleeve. On August 16, founder Nico Guardalabene cooked up a special industry dinner in collaboration with famed Thai restaurant, Lotus of Siam, to launch a limited T-shirt and introduce ROKIT’s 2016 fall season. The event, hosted at Institution 18b — which included skating, basketball and dinner catered by Lotus — drew industry insiders from around the country.
The unconventional streetwear-meets-food collaboration with Lotus of Siam — widely regarded as the one of best Thai restaurants in the United States, and long one of Nico’s favorite Vegas eateries — features the restaurant’s storefront on the back. On the front, true to ROKIT’s minimal style, the logos of each of the participants, ROKIT, Lotus and Institution all appear in white. Also on display was ROKIT’s latest collection, which builds on its range of T-shirts and hoodies by adding detailed embroidery, and supplements the tees and sweats with military-inspired tote bags and outerwear.
Take a look at the shots above to see the collaborative T-shirt as well as highlights from the event including the custom Air Force 1-soled Vans created for ROKIT by The Shoe Surgeon. The shirt will be available on the ROKIT website on August 19 and exclusively at Institution 18b on August 23.
