'Pokémon GO' Is Now Live in 15 More Countries
But not China, India or Korea.

The wait is over for many Pokémon GO fans in Asia, following its release in 15 more countries. Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and Palau all received the game yesterday, but notable omissions include India, South Korea and China. In India’s case, it’s tough to figure out why the game hasn’t arrived yet, particularly with the country’s exponentially growing smartphone market. A launch in China on the other hand, has been held up due to regulations and the game’s reliance on Google Maps. Similarly, security issues with Google Maps are obstructing an official release in Korea as well, though the game has been available in certain parts of the country.
The game recently surpassed the 100 million downloads mark, and its popularity has been credited with surging sales of portable smartphone battery backups.
