Lucien Clarke, Ishod Wair, Arto Saari and Andrew Reynolds Explore Cuba's Skate Culture
‘Vice Sports’ took the skaters to the reclusive island republic.
Cuba may have been cut off from American cultural influence for decades, but the recent thaw of the economic embargo has had a noticeable effect on the country’s burgeoning skate culture. For what it may lack in funding, resources and skateparks, the local skate culture more than makes up for it in pluck and passion. Vice Sports took skaters Ishod Wair, Lucien Clarke and Andrew Reynolds (plus special guest Arto Saari) down to the island republic to scope out some of Havana’s greatest skate spots and to get a taste of a largely foreign culture.
