Winner of Gen Art‘s “Menswear Designer of the Year” award, Bristol Los Angeles has joined forces with photographer Julian Berman to shine the spotlight on some of the key pieces from its debut collection. The absence of graphics shifts the focus on the label’s use of materials, with Italian wool, Japanese selvedge denim, custom antique hardware and French Terry fabrics in particular standing out. Elsewhere, heavyweight canvas and vintage Japanese cotton are found in the brand’s Jan trouser and Waldo T-shirt respectively. As an ode to the city that raised them, Bristol LA manages to maintain a laid-back feel for its debut range, using boxy cut and soft hues of purple, peach and navy. This trait is further brought to life by the photo set’s tranquil backdrop of a quaint Malibu beach home. Check out “Collection 001” above and purchase any items from the label’s new-launched webstore and select retailers such as American Rag, Fred Segal Japan, Revolve and Machus.
